About Mr. Shue
First and foremost, I would like to say welcome to my website! This is my sixth year teaching and I look forward to working with each and every one of my students. Furthermore, as a 2005 graduate of South Western High School, I am thrilled and honored to be teaching in my home district; Once a Mustang, Always a Mustang! Upon graduating from South Western, I attended Shippensburg University (Go Raiders!) and received my degree in History Education, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2009. I also received my Master's degree in the art of teaching through the University of Southern California in 2015 (Go Trojans! Fight On!)
As I mentioned before, this will be my sixth year teaching in South Western. Prior to teaching at South Western, I worked as an instructional aide at Norwin Middle School, just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. In my time at Norwin, I had the privilege of working with great veteran teachers and exceptional students.
In my sixth year at South Western, I will be teaching AP Psychology and American Government and Politics. This Fall, I will be working with the Marching Mustangs as the marching percussion instructor; this will be my fifth season helping out, and I am really looking forward to working with these young musicians.
In my time away from my classroom and students, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my niece and nephew. In October 2012, I got engaged to my wonderful fiance and we got married in June 2014, and welcomed our first child, a little girl named Harper, in February of 2017. I am an avid Duke Blue Devils basketball fan and a USC Trojans football fan. During the professional sports seasons, I follow the New York Yankees and the Tennessee Titans. During the summer, I enjoy going to the beach, and spending time visiting with my friends.
All information for the courses I teach can be found on this website. If you have any questions throughout the course of the year, please feel free to get in contact with me through my school email, [email protected], or by calling (717) 633-4807 and leaving a voice mail through the school. I look forward to working with your son or daughter in the upcoming semester, and also meeting you on Parent Get Acquainted Night.
