Welcome!
First and foremost, I would like to say welcome to my website! This is my sixth year teaching at South West, and I look forward to working with each and every one of my students. As a 2005 graduate of South Western, I am thrilled and honored to be teaching in my home district; Once a Mustang, Always a Mustang!

Why study the social sciences?
“You cannot understand where you are going until you understand from where you have come.” It is important for students to understand that the tools needed to solve the challenges that humans face can be found in the past. In order to progress technologically, economically, politically, or socially, no group can be ignorant of what has been tried and tested, and more importantly of what has failed and succeeded. By understanding and using these tools, students gain a better understanding of the world around them and are challenged to inquire and analyze. More importantly, they utilize these tools in multiple settings, learning the transferability of something learned in the social sciences. This ability better prepares the students to succeed in an ever changing and ever connected global community.
